Action Plans

 The table below details all the current action plans that make up the Shropshire Biodiversity Action Plan.  These include plans for species and habitats and plans covering processes or landscape scale areas.

Plans have not been produced for all species and habitats.  We do aim to complete plans for all UKBAP habitats found in Shropshire but not all species will be covered by specific plans.  Their needs can usually be covered by appropriate management of habitats.

BAP Habitat Definitions

 

The most recent version of the UK Biodiversity Action Plan habitat definitions are available from the UK BAP website.

The update of the definitions include some habitats which have been recently added to the UK BAP including:

Traditional orchards

Open mosaic habitats on previously developed land

Inland rock outcrop and scree habitats

Upland wet flushes, fens and swamp

The 4 habitats above are also new to the Shropshire BAP list.
